Growth Mindset Workshop

On October 14, PEP’s Behavioral Coordinator, Sydnie Burnett, facilitated a growth mindset workshop for our 7th and 8th graders. Through a series of interactive activities, the students learned the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset, to view mistakes as learning opportunities, and about famous individuals who overcame difficulty through perseverance. The workshop ended with a discussion on the importance of positive self-talk. Students wrote empowering statements and placed them around the PEP House to encourage peers, tutors, coaches, and staff members.
