Social-emotional Support and Enrichment

Strengthening Sense of Self: Social-Emotional Support

Developing social and emotional skills is essential to becoming a successful student, capable professional, and well-adjusted individual.

PEP’s social-emotional curriculum aims to equip PEP students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to:

  • Develop healthy identities
  • Manage emotions
  • Achieve personal and collective goals
  • Feel and show empathy for others
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships
  • Make responsible, caring decisions

“PEP has changed me as a person and has taught me to keep going and never give up.”

  • Art workshops at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey
  • Leadership and team-building retreats at the Princeton-Blairstown Center
  • Financial literacy workshops in partnership with Gifting Sense
  • Career exploration presentations from professionals in a variety of fields
  • Corporate visits, including Microsoft and Novartis
  • College visits and admissions tours

“I look back at the family PEP provided with fondness and gratitude. I gained mentors and friendships, all in the pursuit of higher education. PEP exposed me to recreational activities, community service, college tours, camps, and so much more, so I never felt I lacked the privileges of my peers in such an affluent neighborhood.”
